St. Joseph Dental College & Hospital has been established in the year 2002 and functioning at Eluru in West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh State. The actual location is Duggirala village which is situated on the left side of the National High way No. 5 leading from Vijayawada to Kolkatta at a distance of about 50 Kms. from Vijayawada.

The college is managed by Valaivila David Memorial Charitable Trust (VDMC Trust), Eluru under the Roman Catholic Diocese. However, it is not a Christian Minority College but an Un-aided Non-Minority College.

St Joseph Dental College, Eluru is recognised by Govt. of India, Ministry of Medical & Health Department, New Delhi on 21.05.2007. It is affiliated to Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada.

The intake of BDS students in the college is 100 per year. The college is also offering MDS Courses in various specialities from the academic year 2008.

There is NO RAGGING in the Campus. So, the stay of students at our college is safe and happy.

There is a very good A/c Central Library in which, sufficient number of Books, Journals, CDs, Back volumes are provided. It is open through-out the year from 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 in the mid-night, under strict security surveillance.

CC Cameras are installed every-where in the St Joseph Dental College, Eluru campus for the safety of students.

There are separate Hostels for Girls and Boys including A/c rooms and Living-quarters for the Teaching staff within the campus.

The college is attached with 100 Bedded Teaching General Hospital with sufficient Medical and Nursing Staff, Laboratories and other infrastructure.

There is sufficient strength of Dental and Medical Teaching Staff who devote themselves for the overall growth of students both professionally and intellectually.

The year-wise record of the results in BDS 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Final Year University level examinations is 90.63% and in 100% of MDS examinations.

The students are encouraged to participate in sports, games, cultural programmes and NSS activities.

About 20 to 25 BDS students who studied in our Dental College get PG (MDS) seats in various Dental Colleges in the State every year through University level counseling.

4 to 5 students take-up higher studies abroad every year. Some students have also took-up private practice as Dentists abroad.

The college has collaboration with Foreign Educational Institutions namely: TUFTS University School of Dental Medicine, Boston, United States of America and University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada This will provide easy flow of student exchange for higher learning between the college and the said foreign institutions, twice a year.

This is a great achievement of our college and speaks of the devotion of teaching staff.
